In less than a month, Laurel organized a seamless retreat with BoomPop
Laurel.ai, a pioneering force in AI-driven time tracking and billing solutions, recently faced a daunting challenge: orchestrating a company-wide retreat in three weeks. They partnered with BoomPop to quickly transform their vision into reality.
We spoke with Tara Pramme, Laurel’s Head of People, to learn more about her experience planning with BoomPop.
Planning with a tight turnaround
As Laurel.ai geared up for its biannual retreat in scenic Scottsdale, Arizona, the clock was ticking. Due to a busy December, planning had barely begun and the only thing booked was the hotel. "Everyone wears so many hats at a startup," Pramme says, "but we needed to make this retreat happen.”
With the team stretched thin and just three weeks to turn ideas into an event, Laurel.ai turned to BoomPop to navigate the planning maze.
Developing a planning partnership
For their geographically dispersed team, in-person retreats are crucial for building relationships, fostering cross-functional collaboration, and driving projects forward. For past retreats, Laurel delegated pieces of the retreat planning to various team members, including community dinners. “It was nice to take this off of people’s plates and hand it off to BoomPop,” Pramme mentions.
Beyond restaurant booking, BoomPop ensured clear attendee communication by crafting well-written emails, detailing logistics like check-in information, contact points, and hotel details to send to the whole company. "Writing emails and detailing logistics can be time-consuming. It was really nice to have a true partner that could run with so much of the planning and communication, and represented our company well," highlights Pramme.
Results that speak for themselves
The retreat, planned in a whirlwind three weeks, was a success. “The offsite went super smooth; everything flowed well, and I truly felt like I had a partner through the entire planning and event process with BoomPop. The team also shared that they felt it was a good use of their time.” Pramme adds, “I don’t know how we would have made this event happen without BoomPop’s help.”
By partnering with BoomPop, Laurel was able to host an expertly designed event without the research, time, and logistical management of DIY planning. Pramme’s final words are a testament to the power of BoomPop: "In my opinion, it was a very good use of the company's resources and Laurel’s leadership team agrees too. BoomPop was a lifesaver.”
