CB4 shares plans for getting back to the office

The moment we’ve all been waiting for is finally on the horizon: There’s an end in sight to the pandemic. But now what?

getting back to the office

The reality is that this transition will have its own set of tough decisions, big changes, and new tests for companies and employees. Over the coming months, we’ll be sharing insights from leaders and culture makers at innovative companies that are forging their own path back to “normal.”

Most recently, we had a chat with Hannah Liberman, Senior Talent Acquisition Manager at CB4 to hear how they’re preparing for the transition with their 60+ employees. Headquartered in New York, CB4 is a patented AI tool that helps retailers uncover and fix the costliest execution problems in stores.

What are your post-shutdown plans for employees?

After over a year of virtual interactions we are looking forward to bringing our teams back together in the second half of 2021! As vaccines become more widely available and local restrictions lift, we are exploring flexible return to office options that will allow employees to maintain the work from home lifestyles they've grown to love, while having some in person touchpoints to foster stronger team collaborations and of course, FUN!

How are you helping your colleagues make the transition?

The most important part of planning our return to office is listening. How are our employees feeling? What's important to them now and what's still concerning them? At CB4 we go beyond pulse surveys and work with each employee to ensure they feel safe and supported as we explore what's to come.

How will you continue building a strong company culture in this new model of working?

Becoming familiar with hybrid models will be key to our success moving forward. Our workforce is distributed in a way it never was before the pandemic. We are working to improve not only our modes of communications, but our technology as well!

From team meetings to happy hours, we'll need options for both in person and remote employees and the experiences should be comparable. Partnering with companies like Boombox is one example of how we're continuing to bring our employees new experiences, meeting them in their homes and finding ways to have fun together, even when we're apart.

What advice do you have for companies making similar transitions?

Don't wait to make a plan! While things are changing quickly and your plans will need to keep pace, it's never too early to start talking about what you envision for the future. There isn't a one size fits all option or silver bullet here - it takes working with your teams to find a balance between flexibility and productivity.

COVID dramatically changed the way we live, work, and interact. What learnings or new habits will stick with you?

Go with the flow! You never know what can happen, so it's best to roll with the punches.

What are you most excited about when you think about the future of workplace culture, whether it’s remote, in-office, or hybrid?

I'm dreaming of revamping our company trips! A beloved CB4 tradition is our annual training. Bringing together CB4 team members from across our offices, we would explore new cities together while learning and working side by side.
