This ice breaker is all about understanding where your teammates fall on either end of common divides. Dogs or cats? Introverts or extroverts? Maybe in-between?

Have attendees get up and moving, or modify for a stationary option.

How to use this template

Notes

• Best for groups who have access to an open space they can move around freely.

• If you want to modify this activity to involve less movement, give everyone two different colored papers or have participants use hand raising/verbal cues to indicate their choices.

Prep instructions

1. Download our template.

2. Use our questions or create your own. It might be fun to create unique questions that relate to your organization or event.

3. Set up your space to accommodate the activity—a large, open area with two distinct sides you can move between easily is best.

Activity instructions

1. Have everyone start in the middle of the room.

2. Explain the rules and hand out any materials if you’re using them.

3. Use a starter question as an example, and indicate clearly which side of the room is associated with which answer.

4. Get started and tally the winner of each question.

5. Recap the winning questions at the end to provide a snapshot of your team’s personality.
