micro1's Bali reset

For a fully remote company, the first time everyone's in the same room shouldn't be a conference center. It should be Bali.

Event Stats

micro1 is a remote-first company that just hit a major financial milestone. They wanted to celebrate it the right wayβ€”not with a Zoom toast, but with their entire global team in the same place, breathing the same air, finally.

‍

100+ attendees from 10 countries. A first offsite with a lot riding on it. Our planners didn't miss a detail.

Highlights

The room where it happens

micro1 didn't come to Bali just to decompressβ€”they came to work together. Two full days of coworking in the hotel's meeting space gave the team the focused time they'd been craving.

‍

But the best part? BoomPop worked with the hotel to keep that room accessible after hours, so when ideas started flying over dinner and someone needed a whiteboard, the space was ready.

‍

One attendee, still thinking about it a week later, described watching the whole team locked in together as genuinely motivating. That's not a meeting room moment. That's a milestone.

Beach Olympics: a warning

micro1 is competitive. Like, extremely.

‍

Their Beach Olympics was designed as a team bonding activity. It became something closer to a sporting event. The energy was the kind you can't manufacture β€” it came from a group of people who'd been collaborating remotely for years and finally had a reason to go head to head in person.

‍

Nobody was holding back. Nobody was bored. The beach didn't stand a chance.

Bali as the agenda

White water rafting. A waterfall hike. Temple visits. A full day living like a local with a Balinese guide. A spa session and yoga to bring it back down.

‍

The itinerary wasn't a list of activities β€” it was a full immersion in a place that has a way of opening people up. When your team is navigating rapids together or hiking to a waterfall at sunrise, the small talk disappears and something more useful takes its place.

Team dinners, every night

Each evening ended around a table. Not a scheduled networking event β€” dinner, together, every night of the trip.

‍

For a remote-first company meeting IRL for the first time, those dinners were doing serious work. The conversations that started in the Kamaveda room carried into the night, and the relationships built over those meals are the ones that make collaboration easier for months after everyone flies home.

Snapshots

A group of people from 10 different countries who'd only ever seen each other on screens, suddenly in Bali, genuinely thrilled to be in the same room. Competitive enough to take beach olympics personally. Passionate enough to keep working after hours because the ideas wouldn't stop. Grateful enough that they were still talking about it a week later.

‍

That's not a good offsite. That's a company that knows who it is.

"This was our company's first offsite bringing together 100+ people from over 10 countries, so there was a lot of internal pressure to ensure everything ran smoothly, it was an elevated experience, we stayed within budget, and still allowed the team to stay productive β€” and Emily handled it all flawlessly. Not a single detail slipped through the cracks. She gave us total confidence every step of the way. We couldn't be happier with how everything turned out."
